I thought the world needed more Pratchett-like books and wanted to see what I could do to provide some. Sadly I'm no Pratchett (Who is?) but I do my best. But as for your question, my degree (in Philosophy) did, I think, help me to be able to think objectively and recognize knowledge from belief and facts from assumptions.
